Hi… just stumbled (literally) upon this article. Interesting that you compare wallpaper with a painted mural.

Murals are often used in rooms that are in need of an more dramatic accent than wallpaper.

Wallpaper is actually a background accent and a mural is a feature in a room.

Mural paint does not fade as you suggest. But… it will get discolored with dirt and wear. Just as wallpaper does.

The great thing about murals or any painted finish… is that it can be painted over when the room needs a face lift.

No need to strip any paper! We love that!
